How To Wash An Old Stuffed Animal

Need some tips on how to launder blimp animals?  Those dearest treasures tin can be a trickier item to launder.

Tin they get in the washer or not?  Can you utilize regular detergent or practise you lot take to use a specialty production?  Is my footling 1 going to have a melt-down if I take the stuffed animal away long enough to wash it?

Hint: don't wash those kinds of stuffed animals effectually nap time or bed time.  Trust me.

You Can't Launder Your Stuffed Animal in the Washing Car if they:

– Take a music box sewn within
– Are extremely old and fragile
– Have items glued on – sequins, etc.  Glued-on eyes probably will survive a washing.
– Accept delicate 'article of clothing' items on that can't be removed (call up glittery, net-type dresses or delicate lilliputian crowns or the like)
– Are filled with small cream assurance inside (like Beanie Babies) and not batting.

How To Launder Stuffed Animals in the Washing Motorcar

Earlier washing a stuffed animal, examine it carefully.  Are there parts that need to be removed first?  Any strings that need to be secured?

Stuffed animals are like to pillows in that they wash much better if laundered in a machine that does not have an agitator.  If you have a height loader, you could always take a big load and wash them at the laundromat.

Washing with an anarchist tends to make the animal ball up due to the agitator displacing the batting.

After determining your blimp animal tin can be washed, place it in a mesh laundry bag.  The mesh bag gives it an actress level of protection from snagging or being pummeled too much in the machine.

E'er launder stuffed animals on the gentle/frail cycle.  They just can't tolerate a more than aggressive washing that a 'normal' cycle would give.

You can employ a warm or cool launder but steer clear of hot.  If items are glued on, the hot water might dissolve some of the glue.

After washing, remove from the bag and hang dry.  I hang mine using a child'due south clamp hanger or on my South-hooks .I've ordered these Southward-hook-type clips , and I'm pretty sure I'thousand going to honey them! They become groovy reviews.

Dryer rut – even on low – could potentially cook glued on or plastic parts.
